Using Data

Eau Claire Health Alliance believes that the best results can be obtained most efficiently by understanding the community. In one effort to do so, we compile a Community Health Assessment and Community Health Improvement Plan with consistent input from the community.

When we hear your input, we want to make sure that we have data to track progress and to guide our work. Using the resources listed on this page, we capture a statistical picture of health concerns in Eau Claire County and then utilize evidence-based methods to improve them. We encourage all our action teams and community members to review data frequently!

  • The 2021 Eau Claire County Community Health Assessment was conducted by the Community Health Assessment Planning Partnership Committee, a collaborative venture involving county health departments, local health care facilities, and nonprofit organizations. This group strategically joins efforts every three years to assess health and better understand the issues our communities face in Chippewa and Eau Claire Counties. This year, the Eau Claire County community identified mental health, drug use, alcohol misuse, obesity, and healthy nutrition as the top five health priorities out of 14 health areas.

The assessment documents the variety of data collection methods used to discern more clearly the issues facing the community. These methods included: a community health survey, community conversations, coalition meetings, and comprehensive secondary data collection. For Eau Claire County, top five areas were: drug use, mental health, alcohol misuse, obesity, and healthy nutrition.

  • The 2021-2024 Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) is a plan for action that defines how our community can work together to address priority health issues identified by Eau Claire County residents in the Community Health Assessment
